Hub Portugal Structure

The idealised structure for the operation of Gaia-X Hub Portugal is based on the creation of Working Groups (WG) dedicated to a specific area, supported by a Transversal Technical Support Group (GTST).

These working groups address areas identified as priorities, as well as areas already identified as work areas in some of the various agendas and mobilising pacts of the Portuguese Recovery and Resilience Programme (RRP). The RRP projects are seen as active elements of great value and relevance for identifying synergies with the work of Gaia-X, particularly in terms of using them to build real Data Spaces (DS) that will be generated by all or almost all of the agendas and pacts.

The WGs are agents and vehicles for:

  • meetings to share knowledge, experiences and best practices,
  • dissemination and visibility of ongoing projects and initiatives, e.g. PRR, Digital Europe, Horizon Portugal, PT2030, among others,
  • opportunities to find partnerships, synergies and use cases,
  • organising and participating in events, conferences, workshops, webinars,
  • establish Data Spaces (DS) in your specific sector/domain,
  • establishing interoperability initiatives between sectors/domains,
  • - liaising with working groups from other Gaia-X Hubs and Lighthouse projects, and possible participation in pan-European EDs.

All the sectors/verticals identified do not exhaust the potential for setting up working groups, which is why Gaia-X Hub Portugal is open to proposals for new lines of work and to all suggestions that can make a positive contribution to the development of the new data economy in Portugal, in accordance with the principles of transparency, security, sovereignty, controllability and fairness in data sharing defended by Gaia-X.
