What is the International Data Spaces Aassociation?

IDSA's mission is to create a digital future in which all stakeholders can realize the full value of their data, guaranteeing equal access and secure, sovereign data sharing between trusted partners.

IDSA's vision is based on the concept of Data Space (DS) - which corresponds to the establishment of ecosystems where relationships of trust are established between partners who agree to be governed by the same IDSA standards, for the secure and sovereign sharing, certification and governance of data, for companies and industries across Europe and around the world.

Data sovereignty is a central aspect of Data Spaces, and even more so in international terms. It can be defined as the ability of a natural or legal person to be entirely self-determined with regard to their data. The International Data Spaces (IDS) initiative proposes an elaborate set of resources, from requirements for the secure and reliable exchange of data in business ecosystems, to a reference architecture and technical protocols necessary for the concrete implementation of Data Spaces.
