IDSA Hubs and Competence Centres met in Madrid on 11 February

Taking advantage of their presence in Madrid for the 2026 Data Spaces Symposium, some of the IDSA Hubs and Competence Centres held their first face-to-face meeting of 2026. 

In line with its global positioning, this meeting featured presentations by Brazil's Eldorado Institute as an IDSA Competence Centre, Spain's Fundación Tekniker as an IDSA Competence Centre, and the University of Macau on ‘Building data flow infrastructures: practices in China and prospects for global collaboration’.

The rest of the meeting focused on how to move from momentum to sustainability, defining the next chapter for IDSA, and setting out a global roadmap for data spaces in 2026. TICE.PT, as the body responsible for the IDSA Competence Centre Portugal, has set itself the important goal of implementing its Data Spaces X (ED-X) TestBed by 2026.
